It's unlikely you'll "unseat" that player above you when you've been playing the entire season at a slower pace, against less skilled competition, and with fewer hours on the ice.  Every coach knows it's a gamble taking a "lower level player" even if they look good in tryouts. 

On the flip-side, every AA coach is excited to get a AAA skater sent down to them.

Our mission is to "graduate" players to higher levels the following year, by competing and practicing above that level the current year.  Joining the Snipers means you'll:

• put in 50% more practice time
• compete in 50% more games and tournaments

...when compared to the Eagles, Steel, Rangers, etc.

This additional effort, along with paid-professional coaching, is aimed to give you the skills needed to make the next level of hockey.

***UPDATE***
The Ontario Hockey Federation has eliminated boundary requirements while capping expansion.  This opens up an increase in demand for a fixed amount of youth hockey openings; the net result being greater competition from restricted supply.
